Borrowing Halo 3 from Blockbuster, how will that affect me??

Hey guys, betcha never seen me on the xbox section of yahoo answers right?

so if i borrow Halo 3 from blockbuster to test out my xbox, make sure its working and what not, and to play live and maybe dabble in campaign, how will that affect me if i actually buy a different halo 3? will my information be saved? for campaign? im pretty sure itd have to be for live right? would it just come with what i had completed on campaign and stuff because information is stored on the hard drive/memory unit?

btw, if information is stored on the hard drive/memory unit, why does the xbox 360 have the size that it does? for graphics? whats all that space for? it has to save stuff on there too right? ps2 and i think ps3, gamecubes, wii's, theyre all smaller. why is the 360 so big?

oh and plz answer my first questions first if you can, thanks in advance!!
oh btw i use a 256MB memory card

All your game saved data is on the harddrive and not tied to individual disks. The 360 hard drive has so much memory because you can download HD movies and TV shows which take up alot of memory, but if that isn't for you then a small hard drive is fine.

I don't have an XBOX, but I know that you're not going to be saving anything on the rented disc because it's read only. You should be able to save your progress on your system and the actual game discs will be interchangeable.

no it will not afect what happens. it does not matter the game it only matters if you switch the hdd drive. it does not save it to the disc, it saves it to your hard drive or memeory card
