Can I buy Halo Reach even though I have never played Halo 1, 2, and 3?

Halo Reach looks awesome! and I heard it was a prequel, but do I still have to play the Halo trilogy first and then Reach..

Halo Reach was meant for both people who love Halo and first timers. It would make more sense if you got Reach then played CE, 2, and 3 in that order.

No. Halo: Reach is the prequel to the Halo trilogy and is one hell of a game. Even though there are a few instances with in game characters and happenings that you may not recognize beacase you haven't played the other games, don't let that stop you from getting it, it's still a solid game with an amazing online, forge, firefight,and campain. That being said, if you own an xbox and haven't picked up the Halo trilogy games yet, you are missing out on terrific story telling and gameplay.
