Can someone give me advise on getting kills on halo 3?

I've been getting killed (owned) by other people on halo 3. Any advise?

Well u should play alot of matches
learn the adv and disadvantages of the weapons
always be aware of your surroundings
watch you radar
never move into the open by ur self
play with friends and practice
learn to use your grenades
and watch people play and learn from them

specialise in 3 kinds of weapons.
know about the adv and disadv of every weapons.
know your surrounding.
swtich weapon to counter foes who use differenr weapons.
Note: take cover is the best.
