Cant play ranked team slayer halo 3?

i got halo 3 awhile ago and i can play ranked team slayer and i didnt buy any maps and my friend recently also got halo 3 and he cant play ranked team slayer...why?

Because you didnt download any maps. You need the Heroic Map Pack, which is free.

* Boundless (Snowbound) - Variant of Snowbound with many shield doors removed.
* The Pit (Default)
* Pit Stop (The Pit) - Variant of The Pit with inaccessible spawn hives.
* Valhalla (Default)
* Foundry (Default) - REQUIRED. Part of the Heroic Map Pack.
* Smashed (Foundry) - Symmetrical Foundry variant for Slayer and CTF.
* Standoff (Default) - REQUIRED. Part of the Heroic Map Pack.
