Do I need the legendary map pack in halo 3?

i was wondering if i need to buy the legendary map pack for halo 3 because when i go to matchmaking it will not find anyone to play with. so do i need to buy the legendary map pack to play live?

do not buy legendary map pack because it is going to be free april 9th, thats when newer maps come out, if u dont have the legendary maps, the search time should not be slower because the playlists that allow u play w/o those maps, dont use the maps, so the search problem is not related to maps
remember, legendary maps are free april 9th ( 6days) so dont waste ur money

no. just when your in match making change what kind of game your trying to play example, teams of two or king of the hill, or un ranked

No, you don't need it to play live but like there's more people playing the legendary map pack play lists.
