Do I really need Halo 3 Dlc?

The Title says it all. I have $40 to spend but do i really need to get the DLC for halo 3, or should i buy another game instead?

Gears of War
Oblivion
Halo 3
Forza 2

I would get the dlc because most of the games that are fun need those maps. I can play like 5 different games cause I don't have the DLC
