does the terminals on halo 3 have anything to do with the game "marathon"?

i know theres a achievement called the marathon man if u find all of the terminals. and i kno halo3 is set like 200 year before "marathon" thats why i wanted to know if halo's terminal had any thing to do with "marathon"......mabey they're going to remake marathon where u have to rescue master chief.

No, they tell the story of how the Forerunners came to be extinct. They are usually (all modes below legendary) conversations logs between a bunch of AI's.

Also, Marathon isn't exactly the future of Halo, it's just a very plausible answer. We just aren't sure yet.
