Elite is better than spartan? Halo 3?

i tested this out in a custom game and in theater...how come the elite takes 5battlerifle shots to the head, and a spartan can only take 4 to the head before dieing?...does this mean that elites are better, also elites tend to go in a ball mode when there gettting shot at in mid air...

i dont see the difference they are the same to me but i do better with an elite.
but marines and the british sas are better cause cod4 is better than halo
