Every player on Halo 3 is muted when 2 controllers are playing on my console?

Right, I was on Halo 3 earlier and I could hear everybody fine when im just playing alone. My friend came over and we were playing together on Halo 3 but as soon as both of us started playing together it was all muted and every player with a mic had a mute symbol next to their name but both of our settings were normal. Does anyone know how to fix this? Because we can't hear anyone. Thanks very much.

well usually a mute symbol shows when your xbox360 family settings are set so that you cant hear other players. you should have a look to make sure that nothing has changed since when you played on your own. hope this helps! xxx

Well, go into settings, audio & turn up all the volumes, ok? Did it work? No? well, then I have no Idea what to do. sorry.
