For shooter games like Rainbow Six, Halo, Star Wars Battlefront, etc. is it

easier for you to aim with a mouse or controller joysticks?

Me and my friend have been having this debate for a while and I say I can aim easier and faster using a mouse than two thumb sticks on a 360 or PS3.

Well I've played first-person shooters on the PC (Unreal Tournament 2K4, CS:Source, Star Wars Battlefront, etc.) and on a console (Halo series, Battlefront 1 and 2, etc.) and I definitely think it is easier to aim with a mouse.

I mean, I would think it is easier to utilize your hand-eye coordination when you're using your whole hand with a mouse, as opposed to only one finger with a controller.

for me it really depends on the game, if it is a fast-paced shooter (halo, gears of war, battlefront) i find it easer to use a controller because you can pretty much run-n-gun your way through the level and you don't have to do much stretching to throw a grenade or jump or lean, but if it is more stealthy, more of a slow-n-steady shooter (rainbow six, call of duty) i like the mouse and keyboard setup, it really also depends on the skill level of the gamer, if they are comfortable with the joysticks, i find that to be a more advanced setup, however the mouse and keyboard are typically easier to adjust to

Mouse and a Keyboard are way easier to aim, the only reason why Joysticks may seem easier are because of the featured auto-aim systems input into those types of games.

If you guys want to take this debate to a whole new level, take a 360 controller(PS3 or any USB compatible controller works) and set it up for any FPS on the computer, say counter-strike, then have him one-on-one you while you use the keyboard and mouse.

That is a sole reason why many developers don't allow games for the PC to connect online with gamers on a 360 or PS3. It would be too one-sided for PC gamers.

But sometimes, its just preference too. Sometimes gamers might be faster with a controller than a mouse. But I would say 80% of gamers would say keyboard and mouse is easier.
