gears of war is it a horror or a shooter like halo?

today im going to go buy gears of war but i was wondering is it a horror or a shooter like halo

It's not a horror, it has monsters in it. Dark corridors on some levels, and some bits that might make you jump, but really it's an action shooter. It's like halo in that it has guns and shooting, but the games completely different, theres alot of taking cover and the actions more intense and strategic. also it's third person not first.
