Halo 3 achievement confusion?

Ok. I have the Fear the Pink Mist achievement and I was not in a ranked free for all playlist. I am wondering now if I can get the upclose and personal achievement without doing a ranked free for all playlist.
Can someone tell me what is happening?

P.S: I dont have Xbox Live

You need xbox live and play online to get this achievement.

If you do get xbox live gold, go to lone wolves in ranked playlists and do what the achievement description tells you to do.

Fear the pink mist can also be done in campaign mode and up close and personal cant. there is various achievments that can be earned either online or in campaign. so unless you have xbox live its impossible to get that achievment
