Halo 3 armor question? Please answer?

I was wondering if different armors on Halo 3 do anything for you. Such as make you take less damage, or give you better accuracy. If they do could you list which one does what?

The different armour options are just there for show sorry. You don't get any boosts etc. Sorry.
