Halo 3 Catch skull, Blue Wraith?

On the storm mission when i finish opening the doors i head straight for the skull, is it ok if i hijack the blue wraith near the door so i can get to the platform or will it make the skull disappear

No u should be good taking a wraith.

you can't destroy the wraith. otherwise the skull will disappear.
