Halo 3 Custom Games Grifball Help?

I do not have the paid map packs, only the freebies, but I want to play grifball with my cousins and friends, and they dont have the paid map packs either. The grifball mode will not let me play unless I have ALL dlc, so that sucks brick!
I'm just curious if it is possible to create your own grifball match in custom games, if it is NOT in the recent games playlist.
