Halo 3 didn't come with xbox live?

i'm pretty sure halo 3 is meant to come with a free 48 hour trial of xbox live... i cant seem to find it in the case, is it meant to be on a card or something or inside the instructions...? does anyone know where i am meant to find it? maybe they didn't give me one...
