Halo 3, DLC Content for ranked matches? What gives?

What is going on with Halo 3 now. I have not been playing it for ages, but came back to it today. Why can't I play any of the ranked matches. Am I right in thinking that those cheating freaks at microsoft want yet MORE cash from me just to play games that are free on the PC. IF that's right they are the biggest, dirtest *******s on the planet.
Microsoft can suck on my nuts. Cheep loosers.

Yes there is new DLC that is required to play certain MatchMaking playlists. =/
