Halo 3 for 8 year olds?

Today after school, my boys wanted to get Halo 3 for their 360. It is rated M for Mature and my twin boys are 8. Do you think it is appropriate? I have personally played Halo 2 and the worst I see is blue gooish blood splattering on the floor and the occasional cuss word. They've heard sh*t, hell and dam* before and the blood and gore doesn't look realistic (more like blue jello exploding) So, should I buy this game for them, of course with me playing right there with them. Or will this "affect my child's mental health" as my wife says it will.

I'm Not Into The Whole Game Thing Yet My 4 Years Old Has V-smile. So When The Other Games Are Concerned I Think That They Should Only Be Playing Age Appropriate Games. I've Seen The Blood And Horror On Those Other Games And Think That It Is Not Meant For Children. They Are Your Children But For My Child I Want Her To Learn And Play At The Same Time. And The Age Limits And Maturity Level Is There For A Reason.

it depends on what you believe
if you think it is too bloody though it is not then don't
if you don't then i doubt it matters

seeing how you have already bought Halo 2 for your kids
i doubt buying Halo 3 will change anything at all except that you might be spoiling them
lol

anywho just buy it for them
