Halo 3 Matchmaking Question?

How do you get new Spartan Armour in matchmaking in Halo 3? Does it cost any Microsoft Points? Also, how do you become an Elite?

lol wow its really simple to figure it out but in ill try to walk you threw it matchmakeing press start go to edit somthing (havent played halo in a long time) and u r able to change color and helms and other armor and even switch to an elite u get more armor choices by beating the game and getting achievments
