halo 3 multiplayer problem?

hi i want to play halo3 online but it well only let me go to social slayer how can i get to the other modes and when i click on ranked matches it says one or more player may not have map

you got to get all the map packs in order to play certian game types, if you have microsoft points you can buy these maps on xbox live, as of now there are three map packs, heroric, legendary and mythic, the heroric is free (so go ahead and download that) but the legendary one is 600pts and the mythic one is 800pts, i know for a fact that for social slayer you need all the map packs that are out so far, so your either going to have to buy a microsoft points card (you can get these cards in stores like walmart, target etc, its about 20 bucks for a 1600pts card) to get these maps or if you plan on getting halo 3 odst (like me) then you get all of them for free plus a new map pack with the game

Its a gimmmick. Microsoft puts several map packs into the ranked match games so that only those who have it can play. Forcing you to buy it if you want to play. Download the heroic map pack (which is free) and you should be able to playSquad Battle and another game (which i forgot at the moment). Otherwise, theres no way to solve that.
