Halo 3 ODST : cooperative mode?

i'm pretty sure you can play halo 3 ODST campaign co-op over the internet, but, can you play the campaign co-op on just your xbox 360 with out being online with xbox live? (like in halo 3, u know when u have a friend over at your house)

yes. It has been confirmed that Halo 3 ODST will have a optional co op mode in campaign for up to four friends offline.

I havent heard about online yet

There is no co-op campaign at all, local or online. There is, however, a new mode call Firefight which is basically the same as Horde from Gears of War 2. You and three friends have to hold off waves of Covenant for as long as you can, I'm not sure if you can play this local or not though.
