Halo 3: ODST question?

From what I know, It is not a full game but rather an expansion. It's a long expansion but it is an expansion nonetheless. It is going to look and feel exactly like Halo 3 with some minor differences such as speed and damage taken from guns. I think it has its own multiplayer. And no, your rank doesn't transfer.

I don't know much about ODST. But I think it will be like Halo 3. I know it will have 4 player co-op and 4 player online capabilities. I don't know anything else. But I do know the online will be as good as Halo 3.

From what i have heard and read online, Halo 3 ODST will not be like halo 3 in that you are going to play as an ODST (obviously) but in this game you will not have a shield and you will have to be alot more tactical in your decisions unlike all the other halo games where you run and gun.Also you will have silenced weapons. It will have ALL the map packs included and extras such as the new recon armor. Now i have no idea how the ranking is going to change and if you can be an ODST online ( that would be cool). Hope this help clear some things up for ya!
