Halo 3: ODST Question?

Hey, im planning on getting Halo 3: ODST soon,
and im just wondering this...
Can you go on XBOX LIVE on Halo 3 ODST?
Like Verse other people from around the world?
Ive watched some previews and it doesnt really give you an answer whether or not you can.
I Have The Normal Halo 3.
So, can you go on Xbox live on Halo 3 ODST? THankss

What ODST offers is a new CO-OP mode as well as a brand new SP with some new weapons. However, the new weapons do not go over to the Multiplayer and unfortunately you can't do Firefight Matchmaking. Other things ODST offers is every single Halo 3 Multiplayer Map available since the beginning to the last map pack released and 3 new maps as well.

The Real question is, do you need the original Halo 3 to play the Multiplayer.
