Are there any free tournaments for Halo 3 on xbox live?
If so, when are they & how do you register?

Yes their is. The largest site that i know of is gamebattles. Their you can join or create your own group to battle it out on halo 3 and even other game likes CoD4 and GH3

yes, tune in to bungie.com every now and then and see whats going on. But you can also have a halo party with your friends.
