Halo 3 Rank Question?

So my old roommate was really really good at halo. And he was also a cheap-skate so he played on my account. He got a 50 in 4 playlists and now my account is a general grade 2. So now i cant play those playlsits without getting destroyed, and all other playlists people are douchebags to me because they think i bought my 50 (and they send me that damn screenshot). Is there anyway I can demote myself or completely start over (without deleting my account, i got almost every acheivement and really dont want to do that again)?
i know i can de-rank, but id like for my highest skill not to be a 50 and it to not show me as a general. seems like thats not possible though

i know what it's like having a ton of achievements then starting over, it really sucks.

yea just go in and get destroyed for a little while and you will eventually de-rank
