Halo 3 ranking question?

I have 184 exp and only 10 rank. I can never advance a rank, one time i had 6 straight won games and i didn't advance anything. please help.

Your rank is actually the picture (like the yellow lines, or the silver bars), that number 10 next to them is your skill level. You havent been ranking up because your highest skill level (I'm assuming it's 10) is too low. You have to get your skill up to the 20-30 range before you try to get your rank up.
