Halo 3 Ranking?

I am still a major despite being lvl 40 in lonewolves. I only have two stars next to my name. How do i become a colonel? Also how do you obtain "Skill Points"?

Skill Points are the points u get in ranked matches and what you need to be a colonel is experience points which you get typically one per game depending how well u do...and kindness does not effect ur rank...wat a moron...u need 400 experience points and 40 skill level to be a colonel u can look at this info on ur service record
