Halo 3 Slow Warthog.?

I love playing Halo 3 but when it comes to Campaign and driving the warthog on the Last level (or any level) it always seems to go slower than i want it to and slower than my freinds and i've tryed switching controllers. Anyone know whats up?
I don't know what it could be i usualy carry a gunner but my freinds always seems to get over the hills faster than me and there always faster and i dont know how to fix it.

When you say friends do you mean friends on live? Because off-host could make a bit of a difference.
I've seen this happen before on campaign where someone will just be barely going faster then you.
Probably host/off-host issues

It sounds to me like a typical slow-down from the console (i'm guessing xbox 360) I had this happen to me a couple times its no biggie. Also the last level is where it has that crazy lava place so the framerate is probably a bit low during it.
