Halo 3 vs Mass Effect ?

ok I used to have halo 3 and i loved it but it broke so i traded it in. and now i want to buy it again but i am somewhat pressed for cash. Would It be a waste of money to buy it since we are so close to Halo 3 ODST?. And i was also hearing alot of good things from my friends about mass effect and i really do want mass effect 2. so i should play the first one. And mass effect is also cheaper. So which should I get?? becasue i wanna buy halo 3 so i can do the vidmasters to get recon

Get Mass Effect it has a great story, awesome characters, great RPG elements, and is all over an awesome game. Halo 3 is okay in my opinion but Mass Effect blows it out of the water. I'd definetely get Mass Effect because it's cheap and one of the best games I've ever played.

Well Halo 3 is a FPS and really good, while Mass Effect is a 3rd person shooter and RPG. I personally loved Mass Effect so much and played it multiple times. If your planning to buy Mass Effect 2 I highly recommend getting the first game, seeing as how you played the first game will affect the second game. ex: different party/different missions and such because you could be good evil or good. I say get Mass Effect and trust me you won't regret it.
