Halo Vs. Gears of war?

So what had a better story, and why. not whats a better game, WHAT HAS A BETTER STORY!

GEARS OF WAR 1 & 2
OR
HALO 1 & 2

I think its halo hands down. remember just 1 and 2 in each series

gears. the developers gave a believable story and stuck with it. they kept it simple. halo becomes so convoluted and plain silly after the second one: it's like bungie wanted to make halo more than a game with some deep story with a twist, but got lazy halfway and just dumped it. the game offers little to no character development either, unlike gears.

i like both but gears because halo 1,2 i dont like.

It's really impossible to say which is better. Both stories are basically the same. Humanity is on the brink of extinction against an alien race. Halo gives you the story as you play while Gears usually gives you a cut-scene that explains the story, then put you back into the game. Halo's story is more believable than Gears since Gears takes the "Over the Top" approach.

It's really hard to say which has the better story I'd say it's a tie.

I think Halo had a better storyline to it. It's alot longer series to so alot more to go on.
