Halo Wars: easy question?

Some of the achievments say like for example: Win a 3v3 Skirmish game with 2 Al Allies. What are the Al Allies, what does that stand for?

Also, when I play against computers on skirmish it says: A.I as their name. Whats A.I stand for?
