Halo Wars limited edition UNSC pack advice?

Hey I have got Halo Wars limited edition, but I am wondering if I open the UNSC pack containing the patch and the novel etc it will decrease the re-sale price a lot??? Also is the pack resealable with a flap or something should i decide to open it???
