How come Master Chief is the only Spartan you see in the games Halo 1, 2, and 3?

He's the only Spartan you see and he Spartan 117. There must be more.

The game states that the rest of the spartans are dead and that cheif survived becuase he was lucky. The books say that the remaining spartan 2s(like 6) are alive but are in a sticky situation.

If you read the book before halo combat evolved, there are seventy spartans, but they all die or are unable to continue the war. Poor, lonely Chief ;(

well they are...in the last book i think 4 of them get trapped in some weird different dimension thingy long story short there are other alive spartans but to add to the effect of the halo story they make it seem like he is the only one left
