how do i download a map on halo 3 off bungie.net?

i have downloaded a map off bungie.net but when i get onto halo 3 and it comes up on the menu it says transfer faild starting automatic download or something please help !!!???
iv also turned it off then back on about 3 times and tryed it again but it still says the same thing

This sometimes happens when you have not installed updates, but they automatically install every time you turn it on... or when you get a new game. You might want to check that.
