how do i make things spawn fst in halo 3?

when i was playing halo 3 my friend invited me to a a game. when i played the map there was a place where trip mines just kept on spawning rapidly so like u can keep on pressing x and ull just keep on placing trip mines.can sum 1 tell me how 2 do that
the x thing dosent work
i mean that when u pick up the mine the mine automatically spawns in 1 second

go to forge. once the game has started, push up on the d-pad, then push x, and go to the selection equipment, and pick the land mine, and place it in the map where u want it, then once u have done that go to it and press x, and a menu should come up, and in there change the respawn rate.
