How Do I Play Halo 3 On Live?

I keep trying to play on live, I go to matchmaking and it says that I don't have the maps to play, can someone please help me out?

you will have to download the map packs from the xboxlive marketplace and some of the map packs u have to pay for so certain game types u still wont be able to play unlss u pay but overall youll be able to play most of the game types
