How do I rank up in Halo Wars?

Okay, I was just a lieutenant today and then suddenly I was a captain. I Still needed like 40,000 more experience until i leveled up to captain... but what happened? Is there highest skill in Halo Wars too?

There was a recent title update. To become a General, before you had to have 3.2 million points, now it's 2.4 million points. All other ranks have been adjusted accordingly.
