how do i stop halo 3 objects from being dotted?

ok i have my hdtv set to the optimal resolution and the reference level is at intermediate it was at standard i didnt try it with the intermediate yet and i tried all of the resolutions but the objects are still dots from far away i cant see my friends until they are up close! i do not know how to fix this please help me

halo 3 doesn't have ANY HD capabilities. it says it can go up to 1080P, but in true retrospect... its just some really clear picture BUT NOT HD.

and what some of the sites i've checked will say, its Halo 2 in HD
