How do u mod forge maps in Halo 3, just wondering, and wat r the consequences?

There are map editors you can download and work with. The consequence is editing game data is frowned upon by MS. Haven't worked with it myself, but it's said that one of the quickest ways to get caught and banned is to edit game data.
Also take into consideration the fact that it was recently reported by a former MS employee that MS did in fact place a kill switch command in the 360. They could potentially fry your system. If you decide to edit maps, don't play them online.
