How do you get katana in halo 3?

I heard you need over 1,000 gamer score from halo 3 and i got just that but i did not get the katana. Do i need 49 achievements or is there a glitch or something i should know about?

you need 49 achievements but there is a glitch that will sometimes give you the katana before 49
it doesnt matter if you have over 1000 points or not

I think u need the first 1000 points.

you just need 1000 pts now that the new achievements are out...i have it, and i dont have the original 49...but i do have most of them, and then i filled it out new achievements. Just do easy ones to get to 1000, then you should get it...but there is a glitch that sometimes doesnt give it to you at 1000(like what happened to my friend.)

when you do get katana, get the popcorn cuz they show a 5 minute video of him raping katana LOLZ....
