you play it just like you do with 1 player... just sign in an additional profile or guest with the second controller.

Well...If you mean two people on one xbox, then you will have to have someone signed in as a gold member. Then if you want your friends to splitscreen with you on matchmaking, you need to sign your controller in as a guest.

One person needs to sign in as a profile that has live and sign your friend in as a guest. Then join a game and both of you will be on the same screen.
