Is Halo Wars anything like starcraft?

I loved starcraft when it came out, and i saw some stills of Halo Wars, it kinda looks like Starcraft 2. They are both stratagies and i was wondering if they are kinda the same or not? If they are, is it worth getting?

Lol. Halo Wars sucks sooooooo bad in comparison to starcraft. Instead of building things in Halo Wars, all you do is upgrade stuff. There's no resorces to mine. only one resource. and you can't expand.

its more like like the Command concore games but it does have a starcraft kinda stratagy feel 2 it
