Its not just if you like Halo 3, but if you like halo in general. Its good history on the entire Halo story as well as a good game. Definitely not a rent, but a buy.

It's not a FPS.
It's a RTS, which is a real-time strategy game. If you like Age of Empires or Warcraft or stuff, you'll like this. If you're a hardcore Halo fan, you'll like this.
If you only like shooters, you won't like this.
If you're under 9, you'll probably like anything that's given to you.

Well special eddition comes with the mythic map pack for Halo 3 so thats really helpful if you absolutely love halo 3... umm Halo wars is like Command and Conqure or Civilization Revolution or Nemesis of the Roman Empire but with halo characters/vehicles/air vehicles... so like you have a birds eye view and command troops such as the Marines...Flame throwers... Spartan... Elites... etc. and vehicles like the Hornet...Scarab ( best vehicle in the game for sure )... Elephant... Banshee... Scorpion etc. So if you're really into the story modes and the vehicles and everything youll love this game

One reason is that you can sell the mythic map pack code for like $40 on ebay and pay for a large chunk of the game.
