Is it legal to download Halo 3 from the internet for free?

I am talking to my friend about the benefits of the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. I brought up the awesome online game play and he said "If I wanted to play things online, I will just use my computer." Then I asked him "Can you legally play Halo 3 online from your computer?" He then responded that he can do it for free because "Halo 3 says nowhere in their contract that you CAN'T do that."

So, can you legally download Halo 3 from the internet for free?

It's illegal to download any type of game off the internet without buying it or not. But hey, if your willing to take the risk of it that's fine they probably will not catch you. But yes, it's illegal to download any game that you would have to buy otherwise.
