I have known master chief's name is John from the book inside the case of one of the halo games but never his last name. On Halo Wars in the time line it says there is a 6 year old boy names john perfect for the SPARTAN-2 project. I think it IS John Forge. Is has to be. It would make perfect sense right?

There's rumors that say it is.
But since bungie did not make the game you cannot be sure. There are 3 different halo tales going on that all relate to each other that are made by different people; the halo series, the halo novels, and halo wars. The books say that john forge cannot be master chief, but I guess its up to the fans to decide.
