Is there anyway i can return my Halo 3 legendary disk?

I acquired an xbox the other month that i had found on the side of the highway with a few nicks and scratches but still in working condition after a replacement hard drive and some love. Inside the disk drive i found a copy of Halo 3 legendary edition. When i started playing it I noticed in the first week that i could not play campaign with other people and i could not play on a select few maps.
Take in to consideration that i have played multiple other games in this xbox which have worked fine.
So im wondering if Bungie or Microsoft ever recalled those disks and if they did if i can get a new one.
If not, got any other ideas on what i can do?

I'm almost postive that you need a receipt; especially if you found the game.
