Making Halo 3 videos Help?

Hi guys! could u tell me how to make a halo 3 montage (the videos that u see on youtube). The only help I need is how do I film my gameplay and put in on the computer. I'm pretty sure if u can save ur gameplay as a windows media player file then u can edit it in the movie maker program. So the basic question is how do i film the gameplay and how do i put it on the computer. thnx

what i did was i have a dvd recorder so i plugged my xbox into that recorded it and put it in my computer downloaded it and put it on youtube...this probably won't help but thats what i did

Hook your system up to a DVD player, record what you want. Rip it into the computer using Nero or something like it. Then with a program like Adobe Premiere, you can add effects, sound/music and other things. Premiere will cost you a bit, but there are other programs that will do the same thing.
