Me and a friend want to play xbox live with two profiles on halo 3.....?

Okay so me and a friend want to play Halo 3 with xbox live but we cant figure out how to do so with two profiles loaded so how do we do that

It'll only work if both of you have Xbox live charged to both accounts. If only one of you guys have live, the other will have to step off and choose Xbox Live Guest.
