Need Help With Halo 3 Ranks...?

hi im a major grade one and my highest skill is 35. i have like 230 experience points. i thought i would rank up to a commander when i reached 35 skill but it didnt rank up. i need help. i dont understand why i didnt rank up. *P.S.* if u wanna get those campaign scoring achievments with me sometime soon add me my gamertag is: van der Sloot

if u go to bungie.net u mite b able to find wat u need to do...n u also need 300xp to b upgrade i think im not for sure bout that though
