On halo 3, after being booted do you rank down?

cuz i feel like being a jackass and i wanna know will i rank down?

I never do this.
I'm usually the nices person on the team.
I was betrayed like 3 times by the same person and i didnt boot them.
I'm just bored and the stupid ppl are usually the funniest.
So i feel like being dumb.

Not exactly rank down but you loose EXP. If you lose EXP and your trying to get your next rank it's gonna be cut back making it harder for because then your gonna have to win an extra game.
